Dr. Matthias Breugelmans to speak at Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2022

We are happy to announce Dr. Matthias Breugelmans, CEO of Elastrin Therapeutics, as a speaker for the Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2022. Also meet Dr. Naren Vyavahare at the networking forum of the summit. Naren is Elastrin’s CSO and Prof. at Clemson University, where the technology was first developed over a 20-year period.
Elastrin Therapeutics is a biotechnology company leveraging a platform to develop therapeutics that render calcified tissue and organs supple again. Elastrin Therapeutics was founded in 2018 as a spin-out from Clemson University. The company recently announced it will start clinical trails in 2023.
Dr. Matthias Breugelmans has a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry at Grünenthal in the Drug Safety department and later as OE / Business Transformation Consultant and Performance and Improvement Lead. Matthias was responsible to identify and drive improvement initiatives with substantial Return On Investment and to increase productivity in Grünenthal’s R&D area. In his latest role as Chief of Staff, he was supporting the CSO to shape the overall R&D strategy, in day-to-day activities and has led a major reorganization of the R&D department.
Matthias is CEO of Elastrin Therapeutics.
Prof. Naren Vyavahare, PhD is a Hunter Endowed Chair and Professor of Bioengineering at Clemson University. Naren’s research and teaching interests are in heart valve biomaterials, site-specific therapies, and extracellular matrix remodeling in tissue regeneration. Vyavahare is a Director of NIH-funded South Carolina Bioengineering Center of Regeneration and Formation of Tissues (SC BioCRAFT).
Naren’s research is published in over 150 journal publications and conference proceedings and is in 6 book chapters. Vyavahare is the recipient of many awards, including: the McQueen Quattlebaum Faculty Excellence Award and the Clemson University and Alumni Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research. He is a Fellow of American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).

About the Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2022
The Rejuvenation Startup Summit (Berlin, Oct. 14-15, 2022) hosted by the Forever Healthy Foundation, is a vibrant networking event that aims to accelerate the development of the rejuvenation biotech industry.
Rejuvenation/Longevity biotech is a new, emerging field of medicine. It aims to prevent and reverse diseases of aging by addressing their common root cause, the aging process itself. Rejuvenation therapies aim to reverse or repair age-related cellular changes such as molecular waste, calcification, tissue stiffening, loss of stem cell function, genetic alterations, and impaired energy production.
